September’s Persimmon
Posted on September 8, 2012
It’s now September. The air feels a little different, smells a little different. Bloggers are featuring Autumn collections. Stores are stocking their shelves with Fall-inspired items and everyone’s getting excited about pumpkin spice lattes and other seasonal treats. But this month doesn’t mean any of that to me anymore… now I think, my baby girl is one year old today. ONE YEAR… I can’t believe it. I’ll be one of those cliche parents that every-so-often chimes, “I remember bringing you home from the hospital like it was yesterday…”. When you become a parent, that really feels true. And I know when they are 10, 15… 25 and even 50 years old… Ol’ mama will be saying that ever still.
…This dress, yet another thing I can’t believe. Isn’t it gorgeous?! It was made for me, which is something that makes me feel all warm and fluttery inside to think that the maker had me in mind when making this fabulous work of art. The maker, you ask? Her name is Quincy of Q’s Daydream and she designs and sews dresses with authentic vintage style. You really ought to check out her adorable shop, where there is more styles from this collection (and I’ve heard she has a fall collection coming up soon!).

What a beautiful dress it looks stunning on you. I love the photos of and your daughter :)
I was talking to my husband about your family the other night mainly about k12.com (he knows my favorite blogging ladies by name) and he said, “How old are their children now?” And I said, “5 and I think 1 now. . .” So this clarifies it. hehe. I hope she has an amazing birthday. Quincy does a wonderful job on all the clothes, and I adore them so much, but hadn’t seen one like this on her shop before. How very pretty!! Looks wonderful on you! I don’t think I have seen such vibrant red on you (maybe just in plaids??) and it is wonderful.
That first picture of the two of you is precious! Happy birthday to your daughter :) You both look beautiful!
You’re stunning! ;) And that dress is lovely on you.
This dress is so, so perfect on you! The lines of it in that last picture, guh! Aaaamazing lady!
I absolutely LOVE autumn. It’s my favorite time of the year.
Both mother and (now 1-year-old) daughter are as cute as can be!
Oh, what a cute and feminine outfit! I wish more women would dare to adopt your vintage style. Take care!
You look beautiful! Happy birthday to your little one!

Oh Aya! :-) I’m not a mum, but without fail, your motherhood-related posts always make me tear up a little. You speak so beautifully of them.
And that dress? Smoking hot! I wouldn’t be surprised if sooner or later Lucien’s friends developed crushes on his Momma. :P
Awww happy (belated?) birthday to your adorable little girl! :)
You two look so pretty in the photos!
The red dress is stunning indeed, it has this va-va-voom effect – and how great it must be to have a custom-made piece like this, so special! :)
So so lovely pictures !
Happy birthday to your little girl. My son is going to be one in early October. It’s true it feels like you just brought them home. He was so tiny when he came home cause he was a preemie. Now he’s so big.
You both look lovely in your dresses.
Nostalgic matters….i even feel nostalgic about the things it hasn’t happened yet!. Now childhood seems like a trick of time, they grow so fast and i remember how slow the time used to go by when i was little. nonsense!
Happy birthday to you daughter. She’s really grown up in a year. :)
The dress looks beautiful on you!
xoxo
Aw! Happy birthday to Ayla! She’s so adorable!
