Transform A Man’s Shirt
Posted on October 2, 2011
I could not believe my eyes while watching this video. I’ve seen tutorials and guides on turning men’s shirts into dresses before, but not only do I usually find them to be a bit awkward in their results, I also feel they involve a lot of excessive cutting and re-sewing to my liking. With this, I could take an old button up of Thomas’, wear it one day and he could take it back and wear it the next! I love it!

This is so cool! I love how you transformed that shirt into a pretty little dress! And what a cool video with tons of ideas.
What an amazing idea! I’d never have thought to do this before – I just find it amazing how many different styles you can create out of a men’s shirt – that he can wear the next day haha! Thanks for sharing! :)
THIS IS SO AMAZING! Gonna sneak away one of my boyfriends’ shirts so I can try it :)

your dress example is very nice! that video you shared, about transforming the man’s shirt, is clever. i’ve seen the one example, but none of the others. what a bright & creative woman she is to think of such things, & make them look so exquisite!

Love your take on this look! I’ve only really seen shirts into skirts tutorials, but I love the idea of a dress! Although I think I’m probably a bit too tall (or would have to go find a really large men’s shirt!) and it would end up a mini on me. ;) lol. Love the halter look in the video though–might have to try that with one of my husband’s shirts!
This is awesome,must try!!
That is so great! I love simple tutorials like that. Thanks so much for sharing!
Hey! That’s pretty clever, man.. I am totes gonna do this, my boyfriend has some nifty shirts!
Your website is lovely, I don’t think i’ve ever seen anyone dress a baby bump so well! :)

Goodness. You did it and it worked so well. I wouldn’t have guessed one bit that it was a shirt you were wearing. I like that you are wearing a jacket with it.
Thanks for the comments on my blog entries. I consider it a rare treat when I receive a comment at all from you (since you are such a busy lady and have thousands of blog followers as it is)!!!

AWESOME! I’d need to be like really tiny to fit into my husband’s button up shirts but maybe if I bought like a large men’s shirt I could make it work! So cool!

Hi. I agree with you – 100% +. Thank you for the information. Lukas.
I don’t normally comment but I gotta admit thankyou for the post on this perfect one : D.
Featuring exterior with slight stretch, it facilitates optimal mobility during any activities while the thermal north face fleece backing offers the warmth you crave for. Plus, with streamlined standard fit, and the ultimate windproof protection, it leaves no excess fabric and features flapping in the breeze. It won’t be old-fashioned if you are thinking this as every design of the jacket can fit you well, enabling you to show off your poise. you will love the discount north face fleece jackets very much
that’s pretty awesome! unfortunately i’m not that small so i might be limited in how to wear the shirt
Thank you so much for this post!
Such a original idea full of possibilities.
Glad I have eventually been able to look at your weblog post. Yesterday when I attempted to load the url in my browser I ended up with an unable to connect to server error. Fantastic to return and discover that your site is functioning for me again. Best Regards, Lyndsay in Kitchener, Ontario

than you so much. i have a photo day tomorrow at school, and now i know what to wear. thank you so much. just a perfect video.
Wow, totally cool and inspirating video! Thank you so much, it helps me with tuns of men shirts in my wardrobe :D
It’s incredible! Can’t wait to try it out!!
I’m sorry. It looks like a hot mess. If I saw that on the street, I would automatically assume it was a men’s shirt just because there is no fit to it whatsoever, and awkward bunching isn’t going to hid a bad fit.
Admittedly it looks better than other versions I’ve seen, but I’m still unconvinced. Besides, to make it look remotely good, you’d have to have a model’s physique, and most of us don’t. I know at least that my dictionary definitions pear shape won’t be so forgiving.
To add an additional note so I don’t sound like a total asshole, I was referring to the video. The photographs actually are pretty darn cute, but I think the jacket is essential to preventing an awkward appearance from behind.
The photographs make me want to try it, the video makes me want to avoid it, and my common sense is going “No way in HELL will your body let you get away with that”.
Thanks for the additional note, because I was almost in tears! LOL (That’s me in the photos, so being called a “hot mess” comes across as unnecessarily harsh… at least you meant it towards the video (is that shallow? Probably…) It’s definitely not something I would wear on a regular basis, maybe even at all, but I think it’s fun and even funner to try. Sort of dress-origami! :)

Yeah. I do apologize. I was more abrasive than I intended to be. Rereading what I said, it came out much more awful than I intended.
Awe, you’re fine! :) I actually really see where you are coming from!!!

Woman! You’re a genius! I wish my boyfriend wore those shirts… I know what I’m getting me.. I mean HIM for christmas
heehee, thank you so much! :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR VIDEO!!!! what a fantastic idea and a fun way to show it thanks :D
Okay… Just raided my hubby’s side of the closet!!! That is so fun!!!
Very impressed with your ideas! Not sure it will work for me, but you have inspired me to think more outside the box. Love the way you turned it into a shirt and the first way you had it on as a dress. Thanks!
