Fair Game
Posted on August 8, 2012
There are times life seems so hectic and confusing… happening so fast, and so many things to do all at once. My project lists and to-dos pile up faster than I can find the time to complete a single task, and I get so behind on emails and networking (I’m sorry if that includes one of your emails/notes!), but when you get an opportunity to get out of the house and get away from work… take it. Even if it’s just a stroll through the park, and especially if it’s something special, like a trip to the county fair! I really believe that…

We had a good ‘ol time, coming home feeling both sleepy and energized. We rode the Ferris Wheel together (Ayla’s first ride! GUSH), ate oh-so-healthy-for-you-fair-food and just spent the whole day having fun. These times build memories, and bond us together. I treasure getting out and feeling each other’s energy, seeing my family’s smiles and holding each other’s hands as we walk about. Even writing that, I smile to think of their sweet happy faces.

I went to see the animals, and ended up at the demolition derby! So fun, but I think I needed to eat more fair food to give my tush some more cush. My bunzolies are still bruised from 4 hours on the bleachers! I hope you got some corn. It was delish! :)
I posted pictures of the animals and got torn-into for posting photos of/supporting animal cruelty :( Life is kicking my butt right now. But the delicious corn made up for it, for the most part!

Aya
Animal cruelty? Most of the show animals at the fair are treated like little animal kings and queens! All my friends from the farms around us growing up had to get up at like 5 AM just to take care of their animals. (Hence the reason I only had a dog and a cat… I’m too much of a night owl for the sheep-shearin’ life. LOL)
P.S. I like your dark hair!
I KNOW. I don’t think many of these people understand farm-life. Actually, I think the animals at the fair are probably enjoying the HUGE over-head fans and frozen two-liters of water which they would NOT have back at the farm… whatever, it just sucked that I was being treated like a criminal for sharing innocent pictures of cute baby animals :/
Thanks about the hair! I think it’s closest to my natural color than I’ve been in a while… That is, going by my roots because I really have no clue what my natural color is anymore! XD
What a darling family! I love these photos :)
